ABOUT THE UTAH GEOSPATIAL CONSORTIUM

Who We Are

The Utah Geospatial Consortium (UGC) was founded in 2019 and is based on the campus of Utah State University in Logan, Utah. We're an informal grouping of faculty and researchers at USU whose work incorporates any and all aspects of mapping, geospatial science, geographic information systems, and geomatics. For more information on the names and faces behind the UGC, check out our directory.

Get Involved

If you'd like to become a member of the UGC, if you're interested in having your research highlighted on our site, if you'd like to contribute to our growing curricula of short course offerings, or if you have an internship/employment position that requires geospatial, GIS, or geomatics skill sets, we'd love to hear from you!

For any and all inquiries, reach out by emailing us at geospatial@usu.edu

What We Do

In short, our goal is to bring visibility to the wide array of spatial science happening at USU, in the process increasing educational opportunities for students and forging collaborations between faculty, researchers, students, and the public. We achieve this goal by:
- Helping students identify and obtain internships and employment in spatial science fields.
- Conducting short courses and workshops aimed at increasing spatial science literacy for the USU population and the general public
- Making USU geospatial course materials freely available online to anyone interested in learning or improving their spatial skillset
